Following the traces of Rachmaninoff and Mussorgsky in St. Petersburg

On 4 November 2017, the Quartet visited St. Petersburg once again to give a guest performance. In addition to Brahms, the ensemble presented its arrangement of Pictures at an Exhibition, the piano suite that Mussorgsky composed in St. Petersburg, where he then passed away seven years later. The Quartet recently added their version of several Rachmaninoff Études Tableaux to their repertoire. Rachmaninoff also resided intermittently in St. Petersburg, so it made perfect sense for the Quartet to trace the paths of these composers there. The musicians will perform several more concerts in St. Petersburg in 2019.
